10 years, Hwayobi reached her 10 years since debut.
Her debut...
The fans went wild after listening to her debut song ‘Lie’ in 2000. She was 18, but the title of R&B queen was not
to be regretted. That was how an outstanding young talented female singer who can represent Republic of Korea was born. Let’s recall Hwayobi in the past 10 years.
“I have faced many difficulties debuting at a very young age. It was tiring but now I have become indifferent/numb(used to it). 10 years may not seem like a big number, but I am proud to be able to make regular album in a long time.” she comfortably said.
On “We Got Married”…
There are masses of people who had difficulty in accepting Hwayobi but they rejoice at the MBC’s “We Got Married” coupling of Hwayobi and Hwanhee. Wacky Hwayobi has gained popularity. Hwayobi said, “We got married” has a wide fan base. I am not 4-Dimensional, anyway I have peculiar expressions..(laughing) yet lovingly thank you for that” with a smile. She think of it as a way of entertainment for those who watched “We got married”. It is well received because “We Got Married” doesn’t have any script. I am not good at production” in laid back manner.
On her relationship…
After “We Got Married”, Hwayobi has been with her real boyfriend. Hwayobi’s boyfriend, Sleepy has been announced to the public. The mass tried to applause when the couple had a kissing scene for the music video. She said that nowadays they can’t meet often because of individuals busy schedules.
On her new album…
The latest album 7th album, includes 10 songs written and 6 songs composed by her. Her boyfriend didn’t take part in the album because the music orientation is different. She said, “I want to do something that I clearly have and this time the technic is that I should refrain from. The kind that I would like to perform live in concerts.”
She also mentioned that during her comeback, Gummy, Lyn and those young idols will be performing. So instead of thinking of them as rivals, she would love to perform together with them and enjoy performing with the junior singers.
Seeing both Hwanhee and Hwayobi being chart toppers, I bet there are many fans who are hoping that they will have a duet someday. As we have witnessed that their duet chemistry is remarkable. It will definitely be a chart topper. I do hope that one day these two with heavenly voices will work together again to produce a beautiful duet. Are you missing their duets ?

Last week, during the 1st week of her comeback, she was the No.1 search in Naver search engine. She was also in Top 10/20 search in the the other Korean search engines. After 10 years in this industry, it is indeed a sweet success to still be at the top whenever she makes a comeback. It shows that in Korea she is still very much love and recognized for her talents. As for overseas, we hope that she will be more widely recognized. With the sole reason to spread Hwayobi’s love and to showcase her talents to the world, that’s why this fansite was created. She deserves to be known. With hope that overseas fan can get to know more about her and many more will discover her.

Awesome news ! Hwayobi’s “Bye Bye Bye” has been scaling up the music charts and has reached No.1 surpassing the other idol groups, including those that made comebacks on the same day as her. Amidst inflood of comeback of idol groups and new artistes debuting, Hwayobi’s new single is doing well for her first day online sales (see below). There seems to be a new stream of fans who are hooked with Yobi’s R&B catchy tunes. Although, I was anticipating her return with mid- temp songs, but I realized that I was not ready for her full album to be fully filled with such songs. After listening to the full album, these words kept ringing in my head, “Why Why Why” *just like the chorus in “Bye Bye Bye”. There”s a tinge of disappointment realizing that she has really transformed her music leaving behind her soulful R&B ballad presence for this album. I guessed I missed listening to her belting out her lushest voice.
For an artiste of her calibre, her vocal prowess is beyond what this album has to offer. My take on this album, she can do better. Way better. Her God- given talents and capabilities are way beyond what Kpop ent. has to offer now. I was anticipating for a SPECIAL album when it was mentioned that this album will showcase the “TRUE HWAYOBI”. To me or maybe other fans, we remember “TRUE HWAYOBI” as an artiste who awe us with her vocal, with her lushest smoothest and richest vocal that penetrates our soul. That’s the “TRUE HWAYOBI” that I missed. I guessed, I’ve yet to know the “TRUE HWAYOBI. There’s still lots to learn about our dear lady. However, as her fan I am proud that she is dedicated and passionate in producing this album with her own creations. I am still in awe of her vocal flexibility that varies from one song to another without losing the essence of her rich vocal. I still believe that she has lots more to offer. What’s next Yobi ssi ? We’ll still be waiting. I hope our patience will prevail. Fighting !
