By chance, I’ve scouted some behind the scenes photos of the making of “Rose” MV. With Yobi’s upcoming album in the pipeline, we are definitely looking forward to the MV concept. Both “Half” MV and “Rose” MV have showcased her alluring acting talents and I hope she will showcase her exquisiteness in the upcoming album and MV.

She is looking really cute and lovely in her little black dress and beret. She didn’t performed “And I am telling you” from “The Dreamgirls” OST as reported. But she performed a soulful unplugged performance of “Ain’t no sunshine” by Bill Withers. As always, she was immersed in bringing out the right feel and emotions, and, of course she always does it effortlessly. It was an awesome duet and an enchanting unplugged serenade…Yobi ssi fighting !

A year has passed since this haven was conceived on 2 February 2009 and we are already a year older. This haven was lovingly conceived with the support of a band of sistas whom I would like to thank for being the original anchors in supporting the birth of this haven. Thank you ! Madgepop, Crazsri, Hwanyobifan, Leandrosxxi & Rikkimargarette for cheering on the birth of this haven. I guessed it would be a yearly tradition for this band of sistas to be mentioned in celebration of the growth of this haven…And of course, many thanks to all lovely visitors who have been visiting and supporting this haven, especially to Leandrosxxi, Holybelr & Lucecita for the help in translations…& WonderfulYobi, Sqd66 & Soompi sistas for spurring the growth of this haven.
And of course…not forgetting to thank our dear enchanted star, Hwayobi for working endlessly and tirelessly in
presenting to us her enchanting talents and music that has never failed to awe us. Her past hard work has enormously filled and enriched this haven. Enchanted haven was also conceived in celebrating Hwayobi’s 27th birthday last year…& soon in few days to come our dear diva will be a year older too. Do post your well- wishes in the guestbook and we will post it up at her fancafe. She will definitely be delighted to read well- wishes from her overseas fans. Encouraging words from fans will definitely make her feel appreciated and may help to spruce her low days.

Enchanted Haven. a fansite lovingly dedicated to Korea’s “Queen of R&B” and “Diva of Ballads” – Hwayobi. This song is from Yobi’s 1st album “My All” which was released in 2000. It’s a beautiful bonus track which featured King of Ballads “Park Hyo Shin”. This song was also featured in the OST of the K-drama 신귀공자/ Mr. Duke in 2000.

This song is from Yobi’s 4th album “Soul Saver” which was released in 2004. A sultry mellow song which featured one of the best Korean R&B group, Soulstar.
From her duets with Park Hyo Shin, Naul (Brown Eyes Soul), KCM, Hwanhee (Fly to the sky) and many other remarkable male singers, she has never failed to amaze us with the matching and wonderful harmonization in her duets. This shows that her voice’s flexibility is just outstanding, as in every songs she sang it brings out varied voice characteristics yet her voice’s sultry essence is still present.
February is here and we are indeed waiting patiently for her comeback which will probably be this month as she has announced during her Dec concert…Yobi ssi fighting !!!
Last April 2009, Yobi was appointed as the ambassador for a Youth corp programme by World Vision called “Happy Friends”. This programme was developed to encourage more young individuals to be interested in social issues. Since her appointment as “Happy Friends” ambassador she has been active in supporting their volunteering activities. But the recent community service trip to Vietnam was her first overseas participation with World Vision.
For this trip, the team were involved in building a bicycle parking lot for the students of a village elementary school. Dear Yobi was involved in the labour work and mural paintings. She had posted in her cyworld that although it was a short trip but the experiences were very enriching. She seems to have plans to actively participate in more future activities. Keep up the “HEART” work Yobi ssi !
